Spoonbridge And Cherry

Spoonbridge And Cherry is a sculpture in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden In Minneapolis. Built in 1988, the cherry alone weighs 1,200 pounds. Spoonbridge And Cherry was designed by husband and wife, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. The idea of the Spoon came from husband Claes Oldenburg. He said "I'd been doodling spoons since 1962, yet this is my first ever sculpture of a spoon". The idea of the cherry came from wife Coosje van Bruggen. She said "I wanted a nice little fruit to compliment the pretty gardens".

Mall Of America

The Mall Of America first opened in 1992. The Mall Of America is the biggest shopping mall in North America. The mall gets about 40 million visitors annually. That's more than Disney World! Mall Of America includes a 1.2 million gallon aquarium, where you can see sharks, giant sea turtles, stingrays, etc. The mall isn't just any shopping mall, The Mall Of America has 27 amusement park rides, 5 rollercoasters, 1 waterslide, over 520 stores, and about 50 restaurants. Also, there's a lot of walking! Specifically, 2,779,242 square feet of retail space, not even including the amusement park!

Itasca State Park

Itasca State Park was established April 20, 1891. Itasca State Park is the oldest state park in Minnesota and the second oldest state park in the US. There are about 100 lakes within Itasca's 32,690 acres. Itasca State Park is most famous for having access to the headwaters of the Mississippi River. When you go to Itasca State Park you can wade and walk across the mouth of the Mississippi River.
There are also 
a lot of other fun spots to see on the grounds of the park, including Aiton Heights Fire Tower, where you can get a beautiful view of the forests that surround it.
